The Regional Museum of Cafayate is the work of a passionate advocate of Diaguita-Calchaquí culture, Professor Rodolfo Bravo. The archaeological material was recovered from the surroundings of Cafayate within a 30-kilometer radius, and all the items on display — ceramic, textile, and metal pieces — were used for funerary and religious purposes, with the exception of the lithic material.
Since 1991, the Regional and Archaeological Museum of Cafayate, which houses approximately 2,000 pieces, has been maintained and managed by his widow, Helga H. Mazzoni, and his son, Maximiliano Bravo.
